The Alligrator can be found lurking in the fondue swamps of the deep south. Approach with caution. If he sees you, lob him a chunk of cheese. He’ll can’t resist rubbing against it and you can use the distraction to get away.

I was challenged to draw the epitome of misery and this is what I came up with. I used a tortoise because, to me at least, they always look like they’ve got a head-start in the misery stakes to begin with. The title is a play on ‘Chelonia;’ the name of the taxonomic superorder that tortoises, turtles and terrapins belong to.
I never did come up with a decent title for this picture of a gentleman crocodile enjoying some down time in front of the fire with a smoke and his a copy of ‘Gators and Garters.
